I had the opportunity to present a seminar on Email Marketing with Constant Contact. The attendees were very receptive to the technology and asked a lot of intelligent questions. Many people came by my booth and immediately I sensed they were all problem solvers. They mentioned having a hard time finding volunteers, then in the same breath, telling me what they were doing to resolve their issues. They had great ideas and seem to look for ways to fix any issues they run into on their day to day operations. Everyone I spoke to have a “we are in this together” attitude. I really enjoyed my time there.

I was able to sneak into one of the presentations on Search Engine Optimization or SEO from one of the Habitat volunteers, Eric Allen. He suggested that everyone dump their resources into their website. I totally agreed. Having a good website is more important than commercials and brochures. First, commercials and brochures are expensive and you usually can’t change them easily.  Also, you want everyone to see it, rather than fast forwarding through your commercial or throwing away your brochure. Your website should be a priority but also needs to be found.

He gave picture examples like this:

It really brought home the importance of SEO and making sure your website is found. Our WordPress websites have a built in SEO option so you can add your own titles and descriptions.  But one of the most important things you can do with your website is blog. Call it whatever you want, News, Events, Articles, etc. The point is to add to your website and make it bigger and more visible. We do offer a blogging service for clients who do not want to write their own content. I’m happy to provide some samples.

Our new Internet Marketing Packages are a great way to take advantage of the Internet and help your online presence grow!  We will start offering this service in November.
